Are they really anymore expensive than when they were at the Shell stations? All but the big one seem to be in line with what I expect LEGO sets to sell for based on the cost / piece ratio. (...) On the "high" price issue... don't forget that Shell was originally giving these out with certain purchases, and/or subsidizing the costs to make them cheap for the casual gas station consumer. (...) You're right on the price of the 1254, my 1254 from last fall has a price sticker on it of $12.99. Still, if you buy the kit containing the 5 sets, it's about a $9 difference, if I did my math right. Not too bad considering I'm not driving (...) (22 years ago, 15-Oct-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Is there some special # to use to order the whole series? The below link didn't work for me, but searching for each set # did (you MUST use the S in front of the 1252-1256 in the US, at least), but they total $81 bought individually. Ah, nevermind, (...) I just placed an order with S@H and found the shell sets. Oh yeah I bought the whole series. (URL) for the series, but I think well worth it. The Shell Service Station is open for business!
