(...) Really? I thought you only paid sales tax if you live in that state, say I bought an item from Michigan, where I reside, from a Michigan distributor. (...) Torsten, That is one of the reasons the shipping costs are so high. The charges for Customs and import taxes are including in shipping. Lego imports into the US duty free. Someone on Lugnet dug up the US customs reference on their webpage. If you search for lego and customs in the same search string I bet you will find it. Can't say for Canada. (25 years ago, 20-Oct-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)
