Re: Holiday Train now available in USA

I just find it amazing what people were trying to sell this set for when it first came to the light. I remember a person auctioning the set off for over $500. Boy the person who won that auction really over paid. Here is another idea on how to save (...) (18 years ago, 14-Oct-06, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) In Canada the difference is more pronounced but opposite for the rails: 8 pack of straight rails=$18 or $2.25 each online PAB per rail= $2.50 each And of course every element I wanted and I looked at was available for 50% or less of the PAB (...) (...) Dag-nabbit! The price is $130 north of the border which at todays rate of exchange is still $114 in Yankee greenbacks! I knew the LEGO store trip at NW BrickCon was a good deal (especially with the attendees discount) but I hope Steve was (...) (18 years ago, 13-Oct-06, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Holiday Train now available in USA

(...) Martin Long got me one from Milton Keynes in the UK last week. The UK price was £50, which compares very well with the US price - makes a pleasant change. I love that LEGO are selling it without track, motor, etc. Never mind IR control, this (...) (18 years ago, 13-Oct-06, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: S@H on line pick a brick

(...) There are indeed some pricing idiosyncracies. However, a few of these work to the advantage of the consumer. For example, large spruce trees are now cheaper (10 for $6.40) than the bulk bag (10 for $6.99). The same is true for train rails (8 (...) (18 years ago, 13-Oct-06, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: S@H on line pick a brick

(...) This pricing system is a bit of a rip-off, if you think about the number of the same bricks that could be stuffed into those Lego cups. As BrickLink puts prices on some of these items to shame! :-) (18 years ago, 9-Oct-06, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: S@H on line pick a brick

I wonder how many kids are going to make the mistake of mixing "earth blue" with "bright blue". My heart skipped a beat momentarily with the "2x2 outside corner" bricks, only to be let down... they're DARK BLUE. It's not as though TLG has an entire (...)   Re: S@H on line pick a brick

(...) Wasteful indeed. I bought 20 copies of Tim Goulds dark red wall (about 112 dark red 1x2 bricks in each). Each time I also rec'd bunch of factory boxes. (which went right into the recycle bin).
