As is probably obvious, many packages are currently being delayed by the
shutdown of the airports. It appears that the USPS is attempting to move
Priority Mail by ground. The local post office informed me that all delivery
guarantees are completely off at the momment. Somewhere today I heard that PM
will still meet timetables if within 600 miles, but I can't find anything about
that at the USPS web site. When the airports do reopen, I suspect that there
will be a backlog of packages to be moved around, so the delays might stretch
into next week.
International air shipments are affected more than domestic ones.
