Small Packets are generally limited to less than 2Kg.
It is usually cheaper to send larger lots as separate 'small packets' each
less than 2Kg.
From the UK, above about 500g, the charge per 100g is linear.
As for customs fees, mark it as a gift, and make the description 'plastic
toy parts' or similar, rather than, as someone over here found to their cost
'collectible LEGO sets' or similar. It is apparently fraudulent to put a
lower value on the label than the goods' worth, but with LEGO, customs won't
have a clue about the value of individual parts, I would suggest.
I have never had to pay duties etc. on parcels from individuals, but have
had to do so most times when they are from companies (with company
return-address labels, delivery notes etc. attached)
Hope that helps... I look forward to receiving my lots!
