Check on www.ups.com; the fee schedule is somewhat complicated (depends on
distance you're shipping and whether you're shipping to a business or home
address--it's cheaper for businesses).  It is usually cheaper for heavier items
with more insurance, though.  The only problem in my experience is convenience;
I can stop by a post office on my walk to work (and often do), but have to
drive across town to UPS.  I can use a second-party shipper to ship UPS, but
the one around the corner from my apartment adds a $3 surcharge--not worth it.

Does anyone know the base fee schedule for UPS ? I know that UPS
includes free tracking and the first $100 of insurance on ground
shipments. I'm just not that familiar on the fee schedules.
