I recently posted a trades wanted page here at Page 2892 listing parts to many
older 60's and 70's sets that I am attempting to complete.  I recently came
across quite a bit of old (cellulose acetate) pieces that might be of interest
in trading for the pieces that I need.  Here they are:

50 white 1x1x1 cylinders with old logo and no bottom groove that makes the
pieces fit between four studs.
40 red 1x1x1 cylinders as above
60 blue 1x1x1 cylinders as above
17 maroon 2x4 bricks (I have never seen this color before.  Color is solid with
no fading.)

I have many other more common sizes and colors of bricks and plates made of the
cellulose acetate material.  Is there any interest in these parts?

Bill

Bill,

Cellulose Acetate LEGO was made from the early 1950's until 1964, when ABS Plastic
took over.  Unfortunately it had a tendancy to warp, but a lot of decent pieces are
still in existence.  The parts that are scarce are:  1x1, 1x2, 2x2, 2x3 and 2x4
plates in Cellulose Acetate in Green, Yellow and Blue.  The 1x1x1 round bricks from
the early period are real nice, especially since they are of a discontinued type.
They are great because you can use them as a column, but withouth the "rustication"
look of the later types of these pieces.  If these are not in worn condition, I may
be interested in them.  But I have plenty of them in worn condition.

As for Maroon colored LEGO....  do they have the LEGO logo on top of the studs?  Do
they have the tubes underneath?  From 1958 to the present they made the bricks with
tubes in only the basic colors.  But prior to that, they made LEGO bricks in a few
more exotic colors.
