Putting your hands on 12 of these will be a challenge I suspect without
parting with a serious chunk of cash. BrickLink shows that several two
vendors have the quantity you seek although the price is pretty steep
($6.50 - $9.00 each).

I agree this is a silly amount for a single LEGO element but BrickLink is a
free market and as you can see from the Price Guide, 30 of them have been
purchased for an average of $7.22 each! It may be easier and cheaper to
change your color scheme!

Peeron reports that this element only appeared in one set, 6273 from 1991.

I suspect the ones on BL were sourced from one of the Model Shops,
Pick-A-Bricks, or Red Letter Days or something like that.
