Hey Kevin,
Actually, that's not always the case! I found boxes at the Container Store
that would hold a Red Beard Runner for less than 3 bucks apiece! As for the
4534 sets, I just sent Mark 4 sets and I kept them in their original boxes.
He told me I could remove the contents, but I found that I wasn't saving
that much space by doing so (if I kept the smaller boxes intact). I found a
box at the local U-Haul store for $3.00 that was almost perfect in size! It
cost $16.27 to ship the box from Texas to Michigan using FedEx ground
(including insurance)! Mark told me that FedEx ground is cheaper than UPS
or USPS and I have to say I'm a believer. The estimated arrival time is 3
business days! I think I may have to use FedEx more often after this.
Another tip is to take a larger box and cut it down to size. Sometimes it's
easier to find a box that fits in length and width and cut it down to fit
the height. It's not that hard to do with a sharp box knife!
Well, I just wanted to add my two bits! I hope this might help others save
on costs!
