Well, the new factory kit is now just about ready to go. At almost 1800
pieces it's my biggest kit yet! The only major exterior difference between
the final incarnation and the sneak preview pictures I posted previously
at http://www.lionsgatemodels.com is
that I've added a loading dock and doorway at the rear of the building, so
that you can run a train track alongside it; I've also replaced the built-up
side gates (which were rather clumsy looking) with the usual LEGO
ladder/gate pieces. They are positioned so that a road baseplate lines up
exactly with the gate, and with the large side doors on the building, to
give good access for trucks.
I think you'll enjoy the interior details I've designed:
woodworking machinery consisting of a table saw, large lathe,
bandsaw, chopsaw, jointer and drill press, along with tool storage,
worktable, interior offices with details, spray painting booth with
compressor (inside the old boilerhouse at the side of the building),
interior loading dock, dollies, handcart, etc. You also get 7 minifigs:
owner, production manager, office worker, and four shop floor workers. Lots
of exterior details too, including dumpster, chemical drums, shed,
drainpipes, lights, etc.
The pictures of the prototype exterior, and detail pictures of the interior,
are available at http://www.lionsgatemodels.com
As always, each kit includes all the required pieces, full color detailed
instructions and a certificate of authenticity, and comes in a sturdy
storage box.
Now to pricing and timing. I'm offering this kit with four different roof
colors: blue, black, light grey and (possibly, depending on piece
availability) dark grey. Dark and light grey roofs
will have black peak pieces since they are not available in grey. I'm also
listing the large grey baseplate separately from the kit, since including it
would make the box larger and shipping more difficult and more expensive. I
think most people can get those baseplates pretty easily.
Basic factory kit with blue roof and complete interior, no baseplate: $270
Replace blue roof with black roof: Add $43.00
Replace blue roof with light grey roof: Add $44.00
Replace blue roof with dark grey roof: Add $45.00
48 x 48 light grey baseplate: Add $10
I plan to start shipping these in 2 weeks time once I know which color roofs
everyone wants, and at this point I am taking definite orders and payments.
Of the 10 kits in this limited edition run, 4 are already sold, and three
more
are spoken for by people on the wait list. There will only ever be 10 of
these
kits, so don't delay if you want one!
