I am currently searching for minifigs to create a LEGO chess set. Lord only
knows why, I've never particularly liked the game. However, after doing some
quick calculations I've found the standard 32x32 baseplate is just the right
size to make a board in which each square is 4 black or white tiles (which I
plan to buy in bulk soon), a design I've seen several times on Brickshelf.
So, what I need is two sets of LEGO minifigs in two easily recognizable
colors. The precise theme does not concern me, I was considering mixing and
matching anyway (a castle king, 8 generic spacemen, etc.). I'd be most
interested in buying them (at a reasonable price, whatever that might be),
as I've never been able to break up sets (either financially or
emotionally). Alternatively, if anyone is seeking the McDonald's promotional
Bionicle fellows I would be willing to put myself through double rations of
Happy Meals for this purpose.
Also, if anyone has any extra black or white 2x2 tiles I would be interested
in picking those up rather than buy two sets of tiles from LEGO Shop at Home
and having 72 bonus pieces of each color lying around (not that I couldn't
find a use for them).
