Hmm, perhaps this wasn't the correct group - oh well!
I had 5 entries - here are the two winning poems, if anyone wants to see
the other three then mail me and I'll forward them on.
Thanks,
Richard

I like mice
They are nice
So is rice
And chocolate ice-
Cream is dreamy
Fish are breamy
Saunas steamy
Football teamy
Bats are scarey
My head is hairy
Am I a fairy?
Who why what wherey?
Microwave pings
My friend sings
Elastic strings
Always Ultra with wings
Red car door
Polish a floor
This poem is poor
As am I

The sun stirs from winter sleep
In a salmon and carnation sky,
Cats clamor into windows and call
To the cooing pidgeons strutting by.
Finches flush with color posture,
Puff tiny chests, head back, let free
Songs of conquest and romance
In the branches of the apple tree.
Lavender heads of crocus
Push through the twisted grass,
Petals falling wide and broad
When the sunlight hits at last.
Breathing deep as the day warms,
The air no longer tastes of fall,
The windows long to be opened,
Who amongst you will resist the call?
