The seller 'grommitt2' actually said:
"I have spent countless hours designing and building this figure"
Designing? Designing?!!!
He probably meant he spent countless hours *copying* the official statue
that has been auctioned last November by Lego Direct!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=19009&item=1787749965
Since that official one has been sold for over 1400 USD (!) I figure this
grommitt guy smells a lot of money...
..but that's my personal opinion ofcourse.
If you take a good look at both auctions and compare the pictures of the
statue you will be able to see there are slight differences.
For example the round 1x1 plates at the jetpack are not on the official
statue and the 'triggers' of the guns are mounted in another position.
Ofcourse it's up to anybody for themselves to bid at this
NOT-exclusive-anymore statue, but this seller for sure did NOT design it
himself!
Just wanted to get this off my chest...
Copying and selling OK, but claiming rights for something not yours...hmmm
