No, they aren't. That IS a downside.
The upside of that is longer life. Lamps run at 75% of their design voltage
ARE dimmer but sometimes can last up to 10 times longer than lamps run at
100%... At least that's what empirical experience in the MR community with
grain of wheat lamps has been indicating.
