I think what I'd most like to see are ebay "preferred forms" to still allow
users to select which they'd like the most (also show the popularity of each
form), and alternatively (if you REALLY want your own format) you can do it,
but a little icon shows up next to the auction indicating that the auction is
not in a "preferred form", and as such may contain animated gifs, midi files
(GAK!), broken images/links, flashing text (BLECH!), maybe even a JAVA APPLET!
(AAAAAAAA!), etc, etc.... Or if Ebay has the money and the desire, they might
have to actually ACCEPT the submitted format MANUALLY! That'd sure turn people
off to using their format (if they had to wait, possibly make changes, etc,
etc...) Might help to force people into using a preferred form...
