Does anybody go on to Ebay just to laugh at the ridiculous prices these
fools are paying for their Lego?

Yeah, I do.  Then I bid on a few things...

I cannot be as smug as some, being more lego-less than some...

Well, I don't go look to laugh, except when people point out something which
has gone into the stratosphere. I do a lot of bidding on eBay, and I have
gotten what I consider a bunch of good deals. Many of the items I have tried
to bid on at Serious Collector or the Auczilla 500 set auction, I have found
for less on eBay. Lately, I have been bidding on parts lots, mostly from
older sets, and getting good deals.

The only things I see going for absurd amounts for the most part are
currently available sets, or sets which were just recently discontinued that
are easily available from places like DYA etc. Of course some of those would
appear to have gone for absurd amounts, but the availability is not very
good (check out the blue hoppers for example - they go for quite a lot more
than Busy Bee sold them for (if you want to piss and moan about this, please
go to lugnet.off-topic.debate where we have been hashing over that)).
