Greetings:
This is an update for an auction of thousands of bricks and other elements.
This announcement and auction updates will go to rec.toys.lego and
lugnet.market.auction in addition to the bidders via email.
I am offering the elements listed below for auction. Every brick is new and
is in my possession. Since I am in the US, the prices listed are all in $US.
I am happy to work with you if you are outside of the US. For each lot
listed, the highest two bids will be listed to the right with an abbreviated
name of the bidder.
When you email bids to me, please increment prices by at least $.05 or 5%
whichever is greater.
The final sale price will be equal to the 2nd highest bid + 1/5 the difference
between the highest and the 2nd highest. (e.g. if a lot has the two highest
bids of $3 and $4, the sale price will be $3.20) If a lot sells for the
opening/minimum bid with no bid-competitions, the sale price will be equal to
the opening bid. If the opening bid is greater than the minimum bid, the
minimum bid will be used as the 2nd highest bid.
The bidder listed at the top of a list and whose name appears on the same line
as the status is the bidder with the current high bid.
The buyer will be responsible for real or mutually acceptable estimated
shipping expenses. This means that the more you buy the less the shipping
costs will be per lot.
After a while (frequently a day) with no bids, a lot will advance
through the progression of (O)pen -> (G)oing -> goingx(2) -> (S)old.
In my first auction, I was asked about bidding on a whole color set. Since
there was interest in that, In some cases (only on the bricks) below, I have
created lot bids that include all items marked in a certain type and section.
I will accept group bids on those items when the dollar value is greater than
the dollar value of all the bids (and minimums) on the individual parts.
Please don’t ask about any other kinds of group bids, as it is too much for me
to keep recorded.
The organization of the auction is as follows. The overall listing is broken
into the following categories:

Within each of these categories, there is a header displaying the following
columns: number of items for sale in this lot, the type of item which may be
descriptive and may be more for internal organization, as much text as I could
muster to try to concisely explain what is being sold (some of this came from
other sources – such as set inventories to which I am greatful), the current
or opening bid for that lot, the bidder’s name abbreviation, and the auction
status (O,G,2,S). If you have any questions about what an element is, feel
free to ask and I’ll try to provide more details or a scan.
If you see any problems with the way I’m doing this, or have any comments,
feel free to make suggestions. I’m new to this and those that have been made
already were helpful.
