| Well, sometimes sad stories have happy endings. I received the package today (fortunately I was holding out until tomorrow to send more money). It arrived safely, with a September 25 postmark on the Post Office printed "stamp". It was mailed in a (...) (24 years ago, 11-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

Not surprising, if you know a little about the guts of systems like that: it's very cheap to do "get record # 899542", but expensive to do "search 5 gigabytes of information about 2 million auctions, and see if any of the descriptions (...)
