Clearance LEGO at Rome-Hilliard Meijer

I was at the Meijer on Rome-Hilliard today, and noticed that they had
moved an awful lot of LEGO to the toy clearance rack (in the main aisle
on the left side of the store), and they had another cart of brickware
that had a hand-lettered clearance sign on it. The regular shelves were
two-thirds empty, which indicates to me that they're getting ready to
load them up with the 2003 sets (most of which are already on the
shelves at Target and TRU).
Anyway, I loaded up from the stuff already on the clearance rack, and
I'll probably go back in a day or two to see what prices they've put on
the other ones. Most of what was on the cart (not yet marked with the
clearance prices) was Soccer and Jack Stone. The big deal of the marked
sets is several copies of 8002 Destroyer Droid marked down to $34.90. I
may go back and grab a few more of those before they're gone.
I suspect that the other Meijers are also clearancing sets, so it's
worth checking out.

| Know if anyone in town has the Technic Backhoe #8455? TRU on Morse Rd. didn't have it on Saturday. Neither did K-Mart on Bethel. I'll have to check Target. Supposedly there was a S@H catalog with the Backhoe in it for $89 with a discount code or (...) (21 years ago, 30-Jul-03, to lugnet.loc.us.oh.col)
