<Note, I am not familar enough with all of the BrikWars rules to have
these discussions under their umbrella.  I am usually speaking in, umm,
practical terms.  Or, at least, as close as you can get when discussing
X-Wing vs CaveMen scenarios.>

That's probably the best plan.  I'm starting to feel that the whole
point ratio thing will never be a perfect fit; no amount of CaveMan
troops would ever be able to defeat an X-Wing for instance, no
matter how many extra points you gave the CaveMen.  You almost have
to forget about point costs and make guesses based on the scenario.
Actually, what is an X-Wing going to do to a large group of cavemen.
It doesn't have any wide-field weapons.  All it can do is try to pick
off individual combatants.  And they can hide very well.  Actually, I
think someone tried something like this scenario with the EndorMoon
supplement.  :-)

I doubt that anyone would do that, if all you had were a bunch of
knights and somebody decided to butcher you with a bunch of
Harriers, then you would just pack up and go home because there
wouldn't even be any point in fighting the battle.  There would be
no game, and the person who built all the harriers would be ashamed
of themselves for being such a poor sport.  I mean, seriously.
I assume that, by Harrier, you mean the VTOL jet that the Brit's are
so fond of.  I really doubt a Harrier would be very effective against a
large squad of knights.  The thing can't hover for extended periods of
time.  In combat it would be basically a jet.  It would have to do very
fast flybys and strafe or bomb.  The first pass would do a lot of
damage.  Then the forces would scatter before it could get back.  By
the time it turned around for another pass (a good 2 minutes, or more)
the ground forces would be scattering at full speed.  If he ever made
the mistake of getting close to the ground, a battle-axe would do very
interesting things to a sheet metal, aluminum and graphite plane.  Now,
you coop all of those knights up in castle and they had better have
some powerful and fast balistae.

If you field a whole squadron of Harriers, you need to field, say,
10,000 knights.  If they know that they are travelling through Harrier
territory, they will be seperated into groups of 10-20 and travelling
under cover whenever possible.  500-1000 seperate, covered, targets are
going to take a lot of time and ammo to track down.

Now, an Apache on the other hand, could be very effective against
knights.  But then, it is designed to combat ground troops.  However, a
forest would change things, again.  Most modern combat vehicles are
fairly useless in a forest.  That's one of the reasons why marines are
still around.  In a forest, a trooper vs trooper battle would be
interesting in any TL combination.  If, the lower TL can field greater
numbers commensurate with the difference in damage and armor.

Give me a million TL(-1) VirusMen against your TL6 StarMan any day.

Relatedly, the ueber-Wizard I've talked about would probably be TL7
equivalent.  BTW, you can probably do magic without the use of any
supplements.  Just use a magical-object model of magic.  The stats for
magical-objects would be worked up like any tech-object of similar
abilities.  A magic wand that shoots fireballs is a bazooka without the
movement penalties and, possibly, inexhaustable ammo.

(...) LOL! (...) This is true....heh heh heh. The X-Wing pilot COULD try and set off some explosions with his lasers. No, wait. He could not, as he is strafing cavemen; they have no bombs or ammo.
