It's not NYC -- it's FAO.  Their prices are always too high.  Apparently,
some people don't shop around for their toys.

   I think it's a combination of the two.

   I could have acquired Cabana Beach at the
   Menlo Park FAO for a mere $34.99!  The
   Fifth Avenue store, however, didn't have
   anything *too* ancient (save a few very late
   model Pirates sets).

   I did find some really old things at little toy
   stores, though--a cache of those BT-II poly
   bags and some other stuff.
