Sure kids would be welcome.
One minor note: if we get a lot of people (like more than 2-3 besides
myself) it might be better to look for an alternate meeting location (my 1
BR apartment would be a little strained with a large group, though my
bedroom is available (that's where the Lego train table is located - a
likely place people would want to "play", there's also a small desk which
could be made available for a building station). I have several small tables
so we can have plenty of space to build/display models.
