I stopped by there this evening and picked up three Racers sets and an
Alpha Team set. The new Racers are much better than the previous run.
They're close to 10 cent a part, though you get a lot of wheels and the
mini pullback motor. Of course one nice thing about that pull back motor
is that it can be built into quite a few ordinary town vehicles since
it's small. It's also nice that the new drivers use a minifig head, the
smallest set I got came with a neat head. That set also came with a
bunch of extra parts for alternate creations (2 dk grey 2x4 plates, a
2x2 plate, and an extra pair of wheels [small racing slicks]).
Interestingly, one set came with one old style hub which won't go on the
new motor. Looks like I'll have to call customer service.
I think the new canopy and curve parts will be nice (one of the racers
comes with two 1x6 bricks which the top curves to fit the canopy).
