A follow-up on something that came up at the last NELUG meeting --

Looks like the conical gear has 16 teeth (plus the itty bitty grip teeth),
and it's the old bevel gear that was the oddball with 14 teeth.

(...) Just a side note here: The old style bevel gear has 14 teeth, which matches the old style differential, with 28 teeth. This gives a 1:2 gear ratio when driving the differential with the bevel gear. Fredrik (25 years ago, 19-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ma.bos, lugnet.technic)
