I'm not sure who you saw during the show Greg, the manager "T" was there in the
morning, and Jeff the asst. manger was there during most of the show. They've
been under staffed for some time now as far as I can tell. I have no idea why T
left, today was the first I had heard of it. Jeff said he didn't want the
manager job with school and all this fall ( I don't blame him, I doubt your
going to get rich working in a retail store, unless you own it)

I think it's just a refection of all stores in the Atlanta metro area, to many
stores and not enough people to work in them. Basicly unemployment around here
is about 0%. So it's definatly an employee's market for sure. But it would be a
cool job for a AFOL to have, I don't think any of the people I've met that
work there really care all that much about LEGO, just a job.

Heck I'd take the job if they'd pay about 14x minum wage. But then I'd have to
deal with the public and I'd really hate that. I guess I'll stick with sitting
my cube and programming.

Wow!  So what happened?  Did the entire crew quit?  Is the guy we talked
to during the train show still there?  Sounds kind of fishy to me...

Just a note, I was at the Georgia LEGO Outlet store today and found out
that they are in search of a new manager and staff. Currently the
assistant manager is running the store but he has plans on leaving and
going back to school.

The phone number is: (706/216-2800), the address is

     800 HIGHWAY 400
    Suite 1050
    Dawsonville, GA 30534.

If you are interested I would give the store a call and they would be
able to give you more details about the position and how to apply for
it.

Yes. I to think that I would have a job like that, if only it paid as much as I make workin' in the bit mines. I imagine there is much less stress involved. I think it was "T" that I met. - Greg (...) (24 years ago, 18-Jun-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ga)
