There is no denying that DIA got off to a bad start, which is most likely
why people still talk bad about it. Personally, I like DIA. The only
problem I've ever had was the tram thing not working once, but it was fixed
within about 10 minutes.
As for location, DIA is only 20 minutes from the old Stapleton site, which
is only 10 minutes from downtown. This isn't what I would consider a large
commute. As for rental cars, you don't really need one for a conference.
The hotels always have shuttles to and from the airport, and the most you
ever have to pay is a tip.

Actually, Stapleton is being redeveloped in what is being called one of the
most ambitious urban development projects ever. I actually believe they
will be able to pull it off too, judging by the success of the downtown
renewal/cleanup.
Anyway, before someone tells us to take this to off-topic.debate.airports, I
want to get back to the original purpose of my first post:
Denver or somewhere else, I would REALLY REALLY like to see some sort of
event take place in a central location. A location that more people can
drive to.
