I saw an empty shelf labeled Mindstorms at the end of the Lego aisle, but
there weren't any copies. I have seen them at the Hamilton Fry's, though,
along with both expansion sets.
What I was really after, though, was if there were any stores with a
consistent selection of Technic sets. I can get a copy of the 8480 Space
Shuttle for a total of $127.44 (including shipping), shipped from the Lego
Imagination Center (407-828-0065). That store is in Atlanta, I think.
The 8480 set includes 2 motors, and some other parts that can be used with
Mindstorms (which has 3 motor outputs but only comes with 2 motors). Since
it has around 1300 parts, it should complement Mindstorms nicely. And from
what I have heard, it's a fun model to build as well.
So if there is anyone out there who has found bargains/great selection of
Technic in the South Bay, I would be interested in finding out.
