Hi Zonker,
Oh NUTS! I was hoping to pick up a 1x3 blue inverted slope, and show all the
cool stuff we got in Europe.  Not many sets but lots of docs, including a
1999 spiral bound LEGO calendar in Russian!
Anyone want to buy a Darth Vader Keychain from Windsor?

Can you post the photos?

I can bring some DUPLO to the next one for the kids..
How about Nov. 6 or 13th?
Mark

Hi Mark, Welcome back! :-)

Zonker, are you bringing the TV/VCR again?
What is the Schedule for Saturday?
Mark

Well, the meeting was *last* Saturday, since the room wasn't going
to be available on the 14th. Sorry! :-(

So, I *did* bring the TV and VCR, and Paul brought the tape. Dave
Simmons also broght his tape of a home-made stop-animation film
with a space theme, and we also played the tape from the LEGOLAND CA
Grand Opening weekend and Carlsbad LEGOfest.

By my count, about 87 folks wandered through during the meeting.
I took some photos, and more video from this meeting. We didn't
ever get to an 'aganda', but I think the "don't touch" area worked
out well.

We didn't have any kids area, which was a shame. I think that
would have helped retain a bunch of the visitors for longer.
(Joe Greene, where are you? ;-)

The Star Attraction was Mike Poindexter's diplay, which was a
30" x 45" x 20+ briks tall Train Module, modeled after the GMLTC
format. It was built with some cutaway  area, so we all got to
see the building details, and even help build up part of the module.
He also ran an engine-plus-4-club-car black and yellow train on
a long oval track. (His display was in the "touch" area, and he
only had a couple problems with clumsy feet and derailments.

Generally speaking, I think we had a better meeting this time,
although we didn't see a bunch of familiar face, but we did see
some new folks, so I guess it balanced out. (Mike and his wife
drove up from Fresno to bring their display! 3+ hrs each way!)

I think trading was generally light, with some of the trades
already pre-arranged by email before the event.

So, are we ready to start discussing a date for November?
I'll call to see if the Fukaya Room is available in Early November,
but that's holiday time as well. Who already knows when they
have other holiday plans?
