Hi,
Not being a "baylug web coder" this may be a stupid question, but couldn't
we just mirror the first two pages of the Baylug site to Bay Insider, and
not have to maintain 2 sites?

I called our KTVU contact, and talked about the Bay Insider
parenting project...

They have a 2-page minimum to be in the listings. More pages
will increase the chances of getting the occassional splash
on the Bay Insider main page. We could get listings on the
Parenting group, as well as the "Recreation" group.

(They are also partnered heavily with Talk City. Does anyone
have time to set up a Chat Room? ;-)

There would be a single account, and password, for the
BayLUG area. They have a stylesheet/template system for users
with little HTML background, but experienced folks can ask
to have the "expert" flag set for their accounts, which then
allows you to paste HTML from other pages into the template.

Again, I'd suggest that we have one of the BayLUG web-coders
take this on, to help keep the two sites somewhat in sync. Are
there any volunteers? :-)

It turns out I know Lorry from a previous life...she was a
content publisher on Apple's e*World on-line, and I ran the
servers and network that the publishers used to upload content
to the main database machines. It was a nice reunion. :-)

Not a stupid question! It's worth considering even if it is redundant data and there's not really too much of it either. ATM I can't think of anything different to put on those pages other than what's already found on the main and membership pages. (...) (25 years ago, 17-Jun-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)
