Re: Bricks for Brains takes "The Science of Bridges" to COSI Toledo

(...) Duane, Going through the (URL) pictures>, looks like everyone had a LOT of fun. I'm bummed that I couldn't make it out. Also a very cool reminder that LEGO bridges can hold quite a bit of weight. So most of our trains are probably pretty safe. (...)   Re: Pick-a-Brick In Maryland

(...) Both on both counts. Although, Annapolis is a smaller store and their PaB is even smaller than Severna Parks. Pat Bunn (former BeBeep employee and frequent LEGO Expo Exhibitor) (20 years ago, 28-Mar-05, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.loc.us.md, lugnet.loc.us.md.bal, FTX)

  Re: Pick-a-Brick In Maryland

(...) Which location has PaB & the Expo? (Annapolis, or Severna Park?) Thanks for the info, Robert (20 years ago, 28-Mar-05, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.loc.us.md, lugnet.loc.us.md.bal, FTX)

  Pick-a-Brick In Maryland

I went to one of my favorite toy stores today, and they had Pick-a-Brick! (URL) Park>> (URL) The store is called (URL) Be Beep>, and aside from having Pick-a-Brick, they also have a LEGO Expo every year (April 27th - May 11th this year), where you (...)   World Trade Center Revisited

This is version 2 of my WTC microfig model that I rebuilt in November 2003. As with all my previous micro skyscraper "rebuilds", the emphasis has been on improving and expanding the levels of details - particularly at street level. This proved to be (...)   Re: ISD Build competition

(...) I dunno, it'd be cutting it close I think! The SSD is what? Like 10x the size of an ISD? Which, from an area perspective would require 100 ISD's to have the same surface area. And the remaining 10 to try and give it some semblance of (...) (20 years ago, 23-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.loc.us.in, lugnet.starwars, FTX)

  Re: ISD Build competition

(...) Simple--you disassemble the assembled ISDs and use the materials to build as many SSDs as possible. How many ISDs did we determine you'd need to build one to-scale SSD? You should be able to squeeze a few out of 110 ISDs, right? Dave! (20 years ago, 23-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.loc.us.in, lugnet.starwars, FTX)

  Re: ISD Build competition

(...) That would be awe inspiring.. (...) Not sure on this one.. (...) Here's how they're running it: 8 teams 10 people each. 2 Teams at a time competing 2 6' Banquet tables per team 4 sessions Friday (The Indy AFOL Knights will begin at 7PM) Time (...)   Re: ISD Build competition

(...) Yeah, I'm kind of wondering how well that will work. 10 AFOLs can build an ISD in about 1-2 hours, no problem. A non-Lego team? Who knows? The first AFOL build took 13 people 1 hour, 43 minutes, IIRC. Will a non-Lego team be done before the (...)   Re: ISD Build competition

(...) No, no.. the Waiting list is that long.. they are only allowing 8 teams... of which My primarily AFOL team is one..so Jump on the wagon folks...I've still got 2-3 open spots on the team. (20 years ago, 23-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.loc.us.in, lugnet.starwars, FTX)

  Re: ISD Build competition

(...) Um, wow. That's quite the difference. Should be interesting to see how far behind the LUGNET team the other teams are. That's a ton of ISDs and a lot of table space to boot.   Re: new star wars in stores (well TARGET anyway...)

(...) And just a short hop away (Indiana, USA), 7258 Wookiee Attack $29.99 US at Meijers. 70 Technic tread links (conveyor belts), if anyone is counting. Not bad, the tread system runs over some technic quarter ovals at the top, fairly smoothly. (20 years ago, 23-Mar-05, to lugnet.loc.us.in)

  Re: ISD Build competition

(...) .. (...) I spoke with the organizer, and, thanks to advertising on Starwars.com, the entry/waiting list is up to 56 teams! Steve (20 years ago, 23-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.loc.us.in, lugnet.starwars)

  Re: ISD Build competition

(...) Joe, I'll join the team! The thing is that I can only be there on Saturday the 23rd. Do we have to be preregistered? I was planning on just paying at the door. I'll try to see what days I can get off of work to come to a practice. David (...) (20 years ago, 23-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.loc.us.in, lugnet.starwars)
