I will probably sell one of them, so should I keep the 1.0 or 1.5? Any
opinions?

The main differences are extra (better) parts in the 1.5 and no power socket
in the 1.5 RCX.  If you are going to want to keep the RCX on for any amount
of time, using an external power supply is *very* useful and saves a lot on
batteries.  You might even still be able to get the 1.0 to 1.5 upgrade pack
which has the extra parts (http://news.lugnet.com/robotics/?n=13899)
So keep the 1.0!

However, there are more parts and different, more exciting parts in the 1.5
(http://news.lugnet.com/robotics/?n=14056).
So keep the 1.5!

Your best options IMHO are to keep both sets (twice the fun) or keep just
the 1.5 but swap the RCXs over.  These are identical except for the external
power socket in the 1.0.

As I have just acquired an RIS 1.0 and 1.5, I would like to start
messing about with them.

Take a look at all the lugnet.robotics groups and get some replacement
firmware (I use LegOS), depending on your programming ability, to really
make the most of this brilliant set.

HTH,

Tom.

As I have just acquired an RIS 1.0 and 1.5, I would like to start messing about with them. Does anyone have one and would bring it along on saturday to show me its capabilities, or shall I bring mine and we can all have a play? I know you don't want (...) (24 years ago, 1-Mar-01, to lugnet.loc.uk)
