I'm in the mood for a brag!

Before I reached my parent's place in East Yorks., I stopped off at a Shell
garage, and picked up: 2535 Race Car; 2538 Flame Cart; 2539 Batwing Flyer;
2540 Catapult; 2542 Adventurer's Plane, and; 2556 Ferrari. The garage is on
the A614 from the M62 to Bridlington, but that won't help you 'cos I wiped
'em out ;-)

On a trip to Scarborough, I called in to Wrays (dunno the name of the road,
bit it's the one that goes out of town to North Beach) and picked up #8868
Pneumatic crane truck :-) (they're wiped out too!)

Various branches of Boyes (Bridlington, Scarborough and Beverly) provided a
cheap source of: #2433 Duplo Western Stage Coach (for Kerry, honest); 2996
(US S@H only) Adventurers Lost Tomb; 6027 Bat Lord's Catapult; 6031 Hubble
Bubble and Soldiers; 5820 Belville Swing; 5822 Belville Jennifer and Foal.

The return journey called for a stop at Doncaster 'Lakeside' / The Yorkshire
Outlet (junction 3 off the M18). There's a Toymaster with some pretty good
mark-downs: 5840 Belville Garden Playmates; 5847 Belville Surfers' Paradise;
6557 Diver Treasure Hunters; 1782 Diver Discovery Station (complete with
"Exclusive to Toys R Us" sticker!!!); 1761 Paradisa Motor Boat; 1747 Pirates
Tidy Treasure. That's just the stuff I picked up - they also had the usual
8480 Technic Space Shuttles, too many Insectoids, a Castle, etc. TRU on the
same site had a few older Technic sets, but "that ain't my bag, baby!", so
someone who knows what's what will need to go take a look! Mostly smaller
sets though, i.e. a couple of small racing cars plus an Octan Indy as well
as some sets from other ranges, such as a C26...

And... while out on a boot fair hunt on Sunday, I found a biccie tin
containing 99% of #347 Fire Station and #376 Transporter and Excavator from
1971!!! The bricks look like they haven't been touched since then either 8-)

Now, that _is_ my bag, baby!

Just Jono .oO

BTW: Belville was for Kerry too ;-)

Sorry, that's Toyworld, not Toymaster, but from their logos, I'd guess that Toyworld is the outlet store for Toymaster. Apparently, they (...) (25 years ago, 10-Apr-00, to lugnet.loc.uk)
