RE : Parcel Force
I've spent over £500 with them in the month (mostly shipping 8880's).
None of the sets are reaching the destinations... even though I'm using
the 7-10 day airmail service. I called them this morning : They can not
even tell me if the sets have left the country! I asked about
compensation for the buyers, i was told : "7-10 days is a guide, this is
not a guaranteed service". I could tell the woman at the other end just
did not care... she did not even know the meaning of "customer service".
They have a 2 minute recorded message on their international "hotline"
(0800 22 44 66), explaining the source of the delay - but no mention of
this at the PO when I handed over my £££ or in their webspace
(www.parcelforce.com) which I use to get prices. So they are taking
payments right now for Xmas packages which they _know_ will not get
there on time.
Small packets (<2kg) are in involved in all this, these appear to be
taking less than 1 week - I posted a 6278 on Saturday - it reached the
USA yesterday... which is pretty good.

| Does the Royal Mail have any competition? Just wondering. The USPS got a lot better after UPS and Fedex started eating their lunch on them. Draw your own conclusions if you want, but do it in off-topic.debate, I'm just asking a question. :-) (25 years ago, 4-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)
