I build (and play) with mine.  Many creations get postponed due to lack
of bricks.  I take the bricks apart, but keep the design in my head.  I
keep an eye out for ways to accumulate the bricks I need.  Buy/Sell/Trade is
necessary in order to build.

Having said that, I regard building with restricted pieces to be a
positive thing - perhaps even the whole point of Lego.  But I would not
put my "make-do" creations under the harsh glare of public opinion.

I theorize that bricks being more expensive in UK than US, CLSotW standard
MOCs will always be under represented by the UK fans.
