I build (and play) with mine. Many creations get postponed due to lack
of bricks. I take the bricks apart, but keep the design in my head. I
keep an eye out for ways to accumulate the bricks I need. Buy/Sell/Trade is

Having said that, I regard building with restricted pieces to be a
positive thing - perhaps even the whole point of Lego. But I would not
put my "make-do" creations under the harsh glare of public opinion.
I theorize that bricks being more expensive in UK than US, CLSotW standard
MOCs will always be under represented by the UK fans.
