Yes, definitely. I think I bought three of those, just for the motors and
the battery boxes. Even if you buy through the Lego spares service, the
motor itself is £15.60 and the battery box (which is the 1x'PP3' style
rather than the 6x'AA' style that you get when you buy the 8735 motor set)
is £3.90, so if you have lots of Technic it's worthwhile. I was planning on
using them when I got a Mindstorms set (although I am now waiting to see
when Mindstorms v1.5 comes out).

| (...) Which Asda was that? I'm not too sure whether the store's sales policy / "whoops" discounts apply nationwide, so it may just be at your local store. Personally, I was at Asda at Parkhead Forge in Glasgow at the weekend, and picked up two Naboo (...) (25 years ago, 18-Oct-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)
