There must be more to it than that. I picked up the Technic Space Shuttle
(not a dumb down set) for an impressive £50 from Jenners... not a shop known
for its low prices. I think kids like other things these days.

I picked up lego two weeks ago via a Supermarket ad I had . The kids in the
house were aged 9 and 13.... and were sitting playing with their playstaion
as I handed over my cash to "dad".

I'm not sure what the answer is.

(...) Have you noticed how much lego is being discounted in the UK these days. Obviously not being sold in the volumes expected. If I was a Lego executive, I would be getting pretty worried. It says a lot for the quality of the dumbed-down sets (...) (25 years ago, 10-Aug-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)
