Dear Robert,

your German is at least better than the German of the average American. And
whats more important: I excatly understood what you are asking for.

I think <snip> you might be >lucky to find the one or other older set in shops (search for "Vedes"; <snip>

But you would need more than a little luck to find a metroliner in any shop.
<snip>

Here are hundreds of AFOLs now in Germany and it is difficult to find used
stuff on flea-markets. Often there has been a professional ebay seller already
there and you will find nothing when you arrive.

Leg Godt,

Ben

Thank you for saying "your German is at least better than the German of any
average American."  Perhaps it is because I am not an average American, but
an above-average English man (married to a German wife)!

I am learning German so that I can talk to my wife's family (or rather,
the few of them who did not quite manage to learn English before leaving
school!).  Hopefully, I will manage to learn German before my nephews and
neices learn English, and they'll then want to practice it on me!

And whats more important: I exactly understood what you are asking for.

Because you already own ALL of it!!!???  ;-)  (I think I have seen your
"Sets owned" page on LUGnet!!)

As for fleamarkets, the same is so in England.  The best thing is to arrive
EARLY (0700hrs), I find - or would you say that even THAT is pointless?

My sister-in-law said she saw lots of adverts in local newspapers.  Is this
a good idea?

I shall certainly look at 1000steine.  I hope it is okay to post in English?
I shall also print out your email and take it with me to Germany, along with
a map of all the "Vedes".

Robert
