Well I confess to getting some good stuff, but not so much in the way of parts.
I have the convenience of a five minute drive to the store, so I'm checking
for new stuff all of the time. I lucked out and was in the store the day
they received their shipment from the closed Canadian S@home. I scored
several 4555's and 2126's at sale prices and some 4525's. I also managed to
talk the manager into giving me a deal on the RIS 1.0 (their last one). I
also picked up some train parts they had price reductions on, such as
motors, magnet couplers, train base plates and light bricks.
Not the same day, but a few months later I bought several 5571's that were
for a good price. They had several of these that were bought in bulk and
sold on eBay and Lugnet.
