I had moderately high hopes when I saw an ad in the local (Surrey)
paper for a "Giant Toy Flea Market" to be held in a local mall.  It
went off yesterday morning.  We arrived a little early (of course),
and quickly scoped the 30 or so tables for lego.  There was a plethora
of mega blocks (dinos, vikings, castle, basic), but only 1 or 2 tables
with any lego or duplo.  One child ... ahem, or should I say "Mom ...
had a $40 sticker on a beat up Technic Robot set (#8277), which is a
lot more than I paid for it new :-(.  Outrageous.  The kids (and
parents) obviously had big $$$ in their eyes ...

I did ask a few people if they were selling any lego, and a couple
said that they'd already sold it.  Since I arrived 1/2 hour before it
was supposed to start, I'm wondering who "scooped" me?  One of you,
perhaps?  ;-)  What did you find?  I'll take some vicarious pleasure
in your FOTW anyway!

Robin

(...) Yes, it's hard to find Lego used anywhere in this town. Everyone we ask is always keeping it. Or seems to suddenly believe it's mega valuable and then it's toast... Dean -- TFM's Home Page: (URL) Lego Club: (URL) (24 years ago, 12-Mar-00, to lugnet.loc.ca.bc.van, lugnet.org.ca.vlc)
