I had moderately high hopes when I saw an ad in the local (Surrey)
paper for a "Giant Toy Flea Market" to be held in a local mall. It
went off yesterday morning. We arrived a little early (of course),
and quickly scoped the 30 or so tables for lego. There was a plethora
of mega blocks (dinos, vikings, castle, basic), but only 1 or 2 tables
with any lego or duplo. One child ... ahem, or should I say "Mom ...
had a $40 sticker on a beat up Technic Robot set (#8277), which is a
lot more than I paid for it new :-(. Outrageous. The kids (and
parents) obviously had big $$$ in their eyes ...
I did ask a few people if they were selling any lego, and a couple
said that they'd already sold it. Since I arrived 1/2 hour before it
was supposed to start, I'm wondering who "scooped" me? One of you,
perhaps? ;-) What did you find? I'll take some vicarious pleasure
in your FOTW anyway!

| (...) Yes, it's hard to find Lego used anywhere in this town. Everyone we ask is always keeping it. Or seems to suddenly believe it's mega valuable and then it's toast... Dean -- TFM's Home Page: (URL) Lego Club: (URL) (25 years ago, 12-Mar-00, to lugnet.loc.ca.bc.van, lugnet.org.ca.vlc)
