Re: "Canadians. With guns. And a warship. What is this world coming to?"

(...) Well, Spain *does* have warships. They even have an Aircraft Carrier! Honest! (...) Dunno about them, but cod fishers are known to have almost started wars both in Newfoundland and in Iceland. You should know... ;-) Pedro (23 years ago, 9-Feb-02, to lugnet.loc.ca, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

(...) ...which points to a far greater improbability than Canadian warships (which are actually not that uncommon historically)--*Spanish* warships. Not bloody likely! (Also: Are salmon poachers really that well-armed?) LFB (23 years ago, 9-Feb-02, to lugnet.loc.ca, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

(...) Not only that, but inaccurate. We do have 4 FFG's serving with OP Apollo (Vancouver is not in the gulf...she is with the John C Stennis CVBG). However, there is also a DDG and a AOR from Canada in the gulf right now as well (6 ships total). (...) (23 years ago, 9-Feb-02, to lugnet.loc.ca, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Seriously, I could go for a road trip. If anyone in rtlToronto wants to talk about this, I'm game. It's only 1600 km :) Take turns driving, that's 16 hours. We leave Friday, there Saturday, and drive home Sunday. Excellent. If rtl wants to think (...) (...) Hi Jean-Marc, Getting together sounds great, but I'm working on a tight budget and Lego related stuff has been cut way back lately.   Tie Fighter & Y-Wing reduced to $20

My local Wal-Mart had 6-7 of these sets left. The price has been reduced down to $20 as a clearance item. Not bad for the piece count. The strange thing was they moved the Lego section again, but all the Imperial Shuttles are missing. PS. I'll be in (...) (23 years ago, 7-Feb-02, to lugnet.loc.ca)
