Given that the "." is next to the "," on most keyboards, I'm surprised I
haven't made this error before. However, today, on ebay, I discovered what it
means to type "10,50" instead of "10.50". Yep, I nearly bid "$10,500" for the
item. I know I'd like to win it, but probably not at that price. That's comma
is dynamite!

| Heh. That reminds me of a time when I nearly got a bloke to bid US$2500 for a kids' toy! I was cruising ebay for rebreather auctions, when I found one that was an accessory for the GI Joe action figure. It was a remarkably detailed accessory, from (...) (22 years ago, 20-Oct-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

| (...) Personally I can never make that mistake because I use the numeric keypad for entering the figure; there is no comma there so that errors like that can't happen. Having said that though, some areas in the world use the comma as a decimal (...) (22 years ago, 21-Oct-02, to lugnet.loc.au)
