In todays Herald-Sun [Melbourne newspaper for those who don't know] there
was a section about the GST included [covering quite a few pages]. Under the
heading 'games and toys', listed as 'toy' they have :
Lego BASIC system
Now $24.95
GST 10%
Price Tendency DOWN
Est New price $23.20
This gives a discount of about 8%.
SO, if there's a large set that isn't on sale and you can wait an extra
month, you'd definitely be better off waiting...then you'll also be able to
afford a small set as well.
Note: It's quite possible shops will begin selling out of LEGO before the
end of the month, and not get new items in, as they would have to wait a few
months before they'd get the sales-tax they'd paid credited back, so they'll
have temporarily lost money on the LEGO. If they've sold out, however, they
won't have 'lost' any money.
