If it's the piece I think it is, i.e. the one used in the LOM mechs, then
it's actually a good piece to use - unlike the simple 2x2 tile with technic
pin on top, this one can greatly aid structural stability because it has the
plate part jutting out below to each side, which allow it to be anchored
down firmly with plates. If you use the old tile-with-pin, it'll simply
disconnect if your upper rotating section is too massive.
