A tip for anyone trying to buy Lego (especially trains or pirate ships!)
thru the newspaper trading post: be VERY VERY EARLY. On three separate
occasions I rang sellers at 10am the morning the paper came out, and they
had all got over a dozen calls already (one person had had more than thirty,
but that was for a pirate ship).
If a seller lives a bit out of the way, they're probably a better bet - I
went out of town to buy a used lot and it was in excellent condition, with
several complete highly-prized sets in it, easily worth the extra time and
petrol. He said that only a couple of people rang him (as compared to the
others I rang in the inner suburbs).
Then again, if David was talking about the online trading post, in which
case I know nothing about it. If you've got a car, though, and are used to
getting up early in the morning, the newspaper trading post can be worth a
look. It can certainly get you better value for money.
Cheers,
Paul
