Black Cat Big Rig -- not so big anymore!

It seems to be generally agreed that the 5571 Black Cat Big Rig (and other
variants) is the set with the largest number of pieces.

Well, it looks like Lego is going to break this record big time with a new
Statue of Liberty set (that isn't going to be coming to Australia). Check
out all 2800 bricks of it (mostly in a new green colour) at:

http://shop.lego.com/ProductInfo.asp?product_number=3450

Despite what it says about availability, it doesn't seem to be available yet
in the USA. It's not in the USA Shop-At-Home catalogue anyway.

The Lugnet database guesses the price as being about USD 250, which is
pretty scary stuff.

At least I know now what to ask Santa for this Christmas!

(...) At least it will be available in Africa (see the fine print). Let's hope that green colour finds it's way into System sets. Sydney could add another tourist attraction to it's harbour, build a statue on Blues Point (demolish Harry's folly - (...) (24 years ago, 12-Oct-00, to lugnet.loc.au)
