A good question, indeed. As you say, the Lego World Shop did appear to
bypass Lego Australia.
However, why did the Lego World Shop close? If it was all hunky dory, why
not keep it running until the new and improved system is ready to roll? Why
suddenly close it and tell the customers to wait several months for the new
one?
Maybe the fact that it was bypassing local distributors was the reason for
its sudden closure? Maybe the new system will be designed to ensure that the
local distributors are not bypassed?
