Just curious...has anyone found 3401's with the 2 figs featured in the
catalogue and on the box, instead of the green guy and 'zidane'?
Having a french player [well, I assume he is] in the set leads me to guess
that what LA did may have been to order sets for our little island
neighbours [new caledonia, noumea, etc.] and sent them to our toyshops as
well as/instead of to their intended island destinations. This is probably
why: (1) the sets all appeared, and (2) why the sets are so cheap...I reckon
TLG have been conspiring to keep our lego prices up to see how long it takes
before people stop buying lego. This way they have a captive 'guinea pig' to
see how high the rest of the worlds set prices can be pushed safely. [Well,
it's a thought anyway]

| (...) Is there any way of distinguishing a 3401 with Zidane from a 3401 without? (Without opening the box, that is!) Don't know where I've been, but I didn't buy a shoot and score because it seemed a bit pointless having bought all the other sets, I (...) (24 years ago, 11-Jul-00, to lugnet.loc.au)
