In lugnet.org.au, Benjamin Whytcross writes:
Sorry, but I believe it is around $40-something.

Phew! I was envisioning leaving a trail of ACCC destruction behind me
everywhere I went, not a pleasant thought, I've got enough to
worry about
already!

After verification [looking at a catalogue to see the set pictures] the
$20-something Ninja set was 6045.

I've also got a new offender...the local toy-world. the • soccer shoot and
score [portable kit] went from $11.99 to $11.90 [a less than • 1% price drop]
Unfortunately, being in their good-books there, I don't want • to report them,
so if anyone will be coming through [Warren/Paul?], could • they check and
report them to the ACCC [Craigieburn toyworld...Sunbury • should be the same,
too.] so that they get checked [hopefully].

Were there sets in any other theme showing similar problems
at that store?
Is it possible that the way LA have subsidised the soccer
sets has anything
to do with this?  I wouldn't think so, just theorising out loud.

Well, I was only interested in the one set, so didn't check the others
prices...I may try Saturday morning if no-one else can before-hand.

Does anyone else have a complaint about their local toy-shop • not decreasing
the price, and not wishing to inform as they don't want to • get in the toy
shops bad books, or am I the only one?

Well, I can see myself being banned from toystores all over Hobart
at the rate I'm going (relieved about Coles, I must admit).
I've already
had a row with our Toy Kingdom over a non-Lego toy pre-GST
(they ordered in
a Fisher-Price set for me, 1 of 3 in which they had the other
2, all the
same RRP and they almost DOUBLED the price of the ordered one
and I refused
to take it unless they dropped the price, which they didn't).
Admittedly
that has nothing to do with Lego or the GST but I've yet to venture in
there for Lego post GST and won't I have fun if I find any
discrepancies "bar
the doors it's HER again" :)

That's the thing I'm worried about. With them bringing a large range of sets
out next week [the toyworld sale that was everywhere else a couple of months
back] and Layby till christmas and wanting to order the UCS sets [on said
lay-by], I don't really want to end in their bad books. However, I do want
the prices to drop :)

(...) Thanks for digging up those prices! The odd thing is that the 6083 is the only Ninja set they had. I thought maybe I'd looked at the tag for something else altogether, but I'm normally pretty careful to match the set numbers to the shelf tag (...)
