I'd pronounce it and spell it "hooroo" but the Macquarie dictionary allow
for: hooroo, hooray, ooroo, and ooray.

I guess you haven't seen the crocodile dundee movies...G'day is the strine [Australian dialect of english, as opposed to the language in the US which is not english <G,D&R>] form of welcome. Similarly, ooroo [I think that's the correct spelling] is (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jun-00, to lugnet.loc.au)
