My local(Reservoir) Toyworld/newsagent is selling 6982(the big exploriens
ship) for $70.
Given the size of the box I think it's a good deal.  Given the size of • money
I'd like a second opinion from anyone who might know better.

It's a good price, the original retail price was around $150. I've bought
two of these, I like the set, but not really the model you build, just the
parts, they're great.

By the way, did you find the big soccer sets at $55 each?

And while your at it, what's the consensus regarding insectoids - there's a
lot of them being sold cheaply at the moment.

The consensus is "yuck". For a laugh, if you're ever at Chadstone S.C.,
check out the Toys'R'Us, they have an enormous pile of Arachnoid Base sets
that they can't get rid of, even at half price. In a couple of years I'm
going to walk in and offer to buy them all at $10 each, and then go home and
make a huge Christmas tree out of the flashing Insectoid abdomens.

How long has the Star Wars Trade Federation Tank been out?  I don't presume • I
was the first to see it but just in case the details are $50 at Melbourne • TRU.

I first saw it about six weeks ago at a Toyworld in Croydon.

On a side note I have serious doubts we can overtake Italians.  Given they
usually talk with their hands, they probably type a lot faster! (Before • anyone
labels me racist please note I am Italian)

Oh, I don't know, it depends what the Italians talk about. I don't suppoose
you'd go over to their newsgroup and read a few messages?

Cheers,
Paul

(...) Sounds like another ex-Japanese set, still $160 at some Toyworlds (...) poor unloved insectoids, some nice grey bits though. (...) Just no talking to them ! pete.w (24 years ago, 22-Jun-00, to lugnet.loc.au)
